Summer 2009 Opening Night a HUGE Success!!!

With over 150 people attending, opening night for our summer theatre production was truly the way to kick off the summer of arts events! After only seven rehearsals, the eNVision cast pulled off the hour-long performance without a hitch. "Amazing," "Jaw-dropping" and "Non-stop entertainment" were just a few of the positive comments flowing at the end of the night.

July 11th at 3pm, eNVision will be doing a feature performance for Artown at the Joe Crowley Student Union. This day, the Student Union & eNVision have teamed up to promote recycling and a green and healthy earth. So bring your old cell phones, laptops, computers, ipods, toner & ink cartridges and eNVision will recycle them.

The Fundraising Front

Thank to those of you actively participating in our easiest fundraisers, GoodSearch/Shop & the S.H.A.R.E.S program. In the past 6 months, we have already raised more money than ALL of last year with GoodSearch/Shop. And we have already made hundreds of dollars since the S.H.A.R.E.S program started for us in late January!

Please continue to pass on the word about GoodSearch/Shop. The more companies, homes and I.T. departments that use this search engine, the greater benefit to eNVision!

The members side of things...

Jasmine Nicole Bera, a junior in high school, has been spinning flag ever since the sixth grade. Growing up in California Jasmine discovered her passion when asked to join the flag team for a parade band. Shortly thereafter she moved to Reno and immediately joined her middle school???s color guard and winter guard team which got her hooked and once she hit high school, she joined the Spanish Springs program under Kim Atkins.

Once Aaron Hines enthusiastically took EDGE under his wing, he worked hard on recruiting members for the summer program through the schools he taught at. Jasmine, attending the same school Hines worked at, quickly heard about the opportunity to perform during a usually inactive summer. This is currently Jasmine???s second year with EDGE.

???I think it offers the community entertainment and the chance for us to learn and get better at what we like to do,??? says Jasmine. Her favorite part about the program is the ability to constantly learn new things. She also appreciates the opportunity to keep getting better at guard and dance and hopes to be involved with EDGE as long as she can.

I would like to first thank the creative and educational staff that made this summers production of AMUSEment so successful! Over 12 professionals have once again donated talent and time to give our members and community something dazzling!

I would also like to thank our talented cast for their hard work and dedication. With limited rehearsal time, they really are a lot of fun to work with and watch perform! We have some members that are doing it all; dancing, playing both brass & percussion. Not to mention our 30 percussion members are getting a well-rounded experience with playing both mallets AND drums for the show.

The rest of this summers performances should be entertaining and a whole lot of fun. Come on out and support these talented youth!
