Michael Ortega


Michael Ortega is a fellow Reno native who has long been a part of the Reno percussion community. Michael has performed in DCI with the Sacramento Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corp in 2010, 2011 where he played snare drum. For his age out year Michael performed with the Arizona Academy Drum and Bugle Corp where he was under the direction of caption head Ike Jackson. Michael also participated in WGI with eNVision Performing Arts in 2009 on snare and 2014 for tenor. Michael has also been a part of the 2014 University of Nevada Marching band playing tenors. In addition to playing, Michael has also taught at Reed High school as the percussion caption head where they won best percussion in their division in 2010 and 2011. Michael has also taught at McQueen High school as a battery technician where they won best percussion in 2014 at the Sierra Band Crusade. Today Michael is currently working as a Registered Nurse in Reno.
