Jonathan "Jonno" Lee is an accomplished musician and percussion instructor in the Northern California area. He began playing drums in the 3rd grade when he joined a local Japanese taiko drumming youth group, and soon began taking drum set lessons, in addition to joining the school band. In high school, he was introduced to the world of marching percussion, where his true passion started. After marching with the C. K. McClatchy drumline for four years and playing various instruments within the battery, he went on to join the Sacramento Mandarins, where he marched in the tenor line for four years, and was section leader his last two years. Jonno was also a member of the CSU Sacramento Marching Band, where he was a member of the snare line for two years, as well as the tenor line for one year.
Jonno has a BA from CSU Sacramento in Digital Media, and a minor in Music. Jonno has performed with various major artists such as Keith Urban, Chk Chk Chk, and Brilliant Red Lights. In addition, he has been featured on the soundtrack for the video games “College Hoops 2K6,” “Tony Hawk’s Proving Grounds,” and “FIFA 08.”
Jonno is now an active percussion instructor and clinician in the Northern California area. Since 2005, he has taught and given clinics at schools such as Elk Grove, Fairfield, Armijo, Pleasant Grove, Laguna Creek, VAPAC, McClatchy, and Benicia Middle. Currently, he is the battery coordinator/arranger for Elk Grove High School, and the battery coordinator/show designer for Fairfield High School.
