2013 May-June Newsletter

A vision now a reality! eNVision and GPG Publications are proud to present Reno's first Yamaha Sounds of Summer Percussion and Guard camp! Featuring nationally known artists working with local educators, Sounds of Summer provides intensive, hands-on instruction to young percussion and guard members from grades 7 through college age and covers fundamentals, basic and advanced techniques, sectional playing/spinning, ensemble performance and leadership skills. Since the camp’s inception in 1985, more than 50,000 students have honed their skills at Sounds of Summer programs across the country.

Percussion players at this year’s Sounds of Summer session will study under the tutelage of Dave & Kathy Marvin from Denver, CO while Color Guard members will study under the tutelage of Michele Whalley from San Diego, CA. Other clinicians include Yamaha Artist Aaron Hines, Color Guard Artist Kimberly Hines and eNVision staff members Steven Sperber and William Velez.

There are already 58 registered members and you can still sign up through July 1st. Visit the SOS page for complete information!

eNVision in the community:

We have been busy the past months continuing to perform throughout the area. Performances for the Boys & Girls Club, University of Nevada Basketball, Reno Bighorns, Discovery Center's "Night at the Museum", Reno/Tahoe Airports “American Association of Airport Executives Conference” and the Pizza Factory's Grand Opening were well received and a lot of fun!

"...This group really knows how to put on a show to get the crowd going!" -WGI.org

"You guys stole the show. I can't wait to work with you guys again." -Emily Somerville, Sr. Marketing Manager & Events Manager NCET

Below is a list of the necessary equipment to ensure our organization can continue giving these unique opportunities to as many future youth in our area as possible (and the cost). No donation towards equipment is too small. Please click the PayPal button to donate or click here to contact our Director if you can assist us in any way or have any questions.
